I have been thinking of doing something like this for quite some time. I love hockey, and I love hockey fights. This is going to be an open forum to talk about fights, enforcers, and general toughguy happenings. In its infancy, it will probably be my observations and the odd snickerings of my fight fan friends. I would like to take it to a point where it is a place for everything goons and goonettes are looking for in a fight-related site.

A friend, looking for sites that talked about how much Hal Gill sucks, stumbled across this, sent it to me, and I almost pissed myself laughing.

my personal oppinion about fights might not apply to every one but i think that it is great entertainment but it comes to a limit and some times the fights suck, look at gretzki’s first fight, it sucked, he stood there for 5 minutes and didnt throw one punch! on the other hand, goalie fights are the best, so, keep the punches flying!
Interesting note. Gretzky’s first fight came on the night he was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year. Gretz wasn’t exatly known for fighting, so it really isn’t a surprise the tilt sucked. I love a good goalie fight. I have a great story about a goalie fight I will share later today. I’m glad theres still people like you who love hockey fites, its a great aspect of the game. I just hope somebody knocks Crosby that flake.
Pittsburgh just traded for “Big Daddy” Eric Cairns. I would imagine they added him because Crosby is becoming a marked man with his mouth, and diving. I think fights will go up after the Olympics. The boys have figured out the rules, and some of the emotion is back.
Cairns had a fight Saturday with Turner Stevenson. No punches thrown. Pretty lame Millhouse.

Hockey is great and the fights are too. Fighting is down but not done by any means. It is starting to happen and teams are starting to realize they need fighters a perfect example is pittsburg getting Cairns to protect Crosby. The rangers should take th ehint from there divisional foe and pick someone up. The rangers will constantly get pushed and bullied unless they get someone that can fights and Strudwick and Hollweg aren’t heavywiegths by any means. This lack of protection will cause much problems especially as the playoff picture wind sup and the rangers lead man jagr and the rest will be bullied. so the fighter is a big value and neccesary part of the game and of course who doesn’t wanna see a good scrap.
Sean, I agree with you. The Rangers have a Heavywieght sitting on the bench in Colton Orr. I don’t remember the last time he played. Problem is, the days of the Heavywieghts may be gone. You have to be able to play a little too.
