Two of GB’s favorite slugging sons, Trevor Gillies and Cam Janssen, got the shoulder tap today and are headed to the NHL (Ducks and Devils respectively). We’ll bring you updates as they develop. In related news Malone just had a clear win against Leach. Easily 7 right hands to none. Now Orr and VanDenBussh are having a go. This post is writing itself. Tempers are flaring at the Garden.
Chris is actually at the game right now, so I’ll let him chime in and elaborate in the morning.
Chris
Holy cow. I am hungover. Anyway, great tilt in The Garden last night. I got a call in between the second and third period last night from my buddy Kevin telling me of the Gillies news. That call up couldn’t have happened to a better guy. I got to speak to Trevor a little bit before the Lowell game Friday, and he said he really liked Portland, and the whole Ducks organization. Apparently they really like Trevor’s game. I will be glued to the Dukcs and Wild game tonight.
Leach did very well in his NHL debut, feeding Malone a steady diet of hard right hands. Orr’s dust up wasn’t much to speak of. Really quick fight. I don’t think either guy landed any punches. I saw Colton after the game and told him Cam Janssen got the call. He said he was lloking forward to the November 29th game. I am not sure Cam will still be up, but it’s nice to hear Orr say he’s ready.
I am off to the Monsters game. Any fireworks, and you’ll have the full report!
