I think I am going to be sick. The Bruins placed Colton Orr on waivers today. Mini Me O’Connell says he just isn’t needed. Boston has a very long and storied history of treating people poorly. One needs only to look back to the treatment of PJ Stock. Stock, a fan favorite, ne, a cult hero, was signed to a two year deal two years ago. He played one game, and was loaned to Philadelphia of the AHL. He never played another game for the Bruins. As for O’Connell’s statement of him not being needed, I don’t think there is a Bruin on that roster that has played with more heart, and emotion than Colton Orr. Orr has provided a lift when his Team needed him. Look at the fights he has had. The only game in which he has fought they didn’t win, was two weeks ago when Ottawa came in and killed the Bruins. I hope Orr gets picked up by a division rival, and makes Boston pay for this mistake.
No Reason to Watch the Bruins
Milan Lucic has signed a one-year, $1 million dollar contract to return to the Boston Bruins for the 2023-2024 season.

In the last couple of weeks, there’s been two NHL games that featured multiple fights.
On March 30th the Bruins and Blue Jackets got into 3. And on the 5th of April, Tampa and the New York Rangers had a spirited game featuring 5. Of those 5, Corey Perry was involved in 2, and took a sound beating in the second.
I just happened to be in the World’s Most Famous Arena that night, due to a convenient business trip, and also had my whole life flash before my eyes after bumping into former NHL ...

Quite a while since we’ve all gathered on this once popular, and even slightly sacred, little corner of the internet, hasn’t it?
Goonblog.com was cold kicking ass for a couple of years if we’re being honest. We had the traffic, we had the quotes, we had the backlinks. I dare say we even had a sizeable and always growing fan base who we loved interacting with daily. So where did it all go wrong?
Well, the Bruins won the cup in 2011, Goonblog Girl Emma got married, we both had babies... an...
2022-11-01When last we met, dear reader, I was asking for everyone's help. Marc Savard was in dire need of a group hug from the Goonblog community, and I think he got it. Ready to move on with the season we gave Savvy his hug and went about our daily business. Well, now it seems you can give Savvy a hug, just make sure you talk quietly and meet him in a dark room. Savvy, it seems, will be out indefinitely after some Post Concussion Syndrome symptoms reared their ugly head before camp. It has to make me th...
2010-09-25 The NHL free agency period has been open for 11 days now, and there has been some movement by teams looking to get tougher or stay tough that I have found interesting. Sure there are some serious players left unsigned, but I'd rather know where Derek Boogaard is playing over some guy named Kovulchuk any day. This was a big season for UFA tough guys, and so far, I have not been surprised or disappointed by the movement of these tough guys to date. I have been particularly excited by the moves in...

I absolutely couldn’t agree more!(And Orr was picked up by the Rangers. great pick-up by them) Colton Orr was the ONLY Bruin to do his job, and do it well, on a consistent basis. Coach Sullivan keeps talking about bringing in “energy guys”, like Dan Lacature to wake up his team. He had that guy on his roster all season, and chose not to use him. If entertaining the paying customers is part of the job description for coaches, GM’s & players, then letting Orr go was a HUGE mistake. To this point, he was the ONLY entertainment value offered by the Bruins. I’ve never been so disgusted with this organization, and that’s saying something. They couldn’t do more to alienate their fans if they tried.
Frank
I am with you both. This organization is in ruins from the GM to the supposed “Franchise” Center. It is tough for this
lifelong, diehard B’s fan to even function these days. This guy brought what the team was looking for but the problem was, for whatever reason he never made it out of
Sully’s doghouse. I hope Orr has a great year with the Blueshirts of New York. He has to be happy to be out of this mess we call a hockey team. what a nightmare !!
Chris
I’m in total agreement boys. I have NHL Center Ice, so I will now be following the Rangers whenever I can. Orr brought his game every night, which is something that can NOT be said for this whole team. Top to bottom, the Bruins suck. Good luck to Colton. I hope he comes in with NY and just wreaks havoc.
matt
as a bruins fan for a long time, this is hard to read. they have no one playing with pride anymore, when thornton skates around the ice he looks like the walking wounded. sami hasnt done much at all this year, just does his dekes and looses the puck. there are no true bruins anymore, no one that plays with the “grit” that we hear about what it means to be a bruin in those dennis leary commercials.

This is a lot like having colon cancer and they operate on your dick instead, getting rid of a useful part and leaving the shit behind.
Somehow Hal Gill stays…

Good comment Edju
I think the management spent too much time watching the Sweedish Elite league during the lockout, unfortunately they do not have the forwards to play like that or the defense or the goalie or the coaching. The only good part of the game are the strippers they use to clean the ice
Chris
Last night was the last Bruins game I am watching. As a long time fan, that is hard to say. I just can’t watch the organization tank like this. It’s way too frustrating. I will watch Orrsie’s debut tonight, and report back tomorrow.

These guys in Bruins uniforms are frauds. The whole organization are a bunch of frauds. The Bruins have the second lowest point total in the NHL. This was supposed to be a break out year for them. What a joke.
