I am waiting on a couple of pictures to be e-mailed to me from last night’s Bruins game against the Red Wings. Once I get those you will get a full review of the weekend’s games at the TD Banknorth Garden. Quick preview: There were wedgies, and snowmobile talk. Plus Hammer booting. Twice. Good times.

Until then, please enjoy this video Tweener sent to me. I must once again thank him for finding gems like this almost everyday and passing it on. What you are about to see is a beauty TKO from Manchester’s Kevin Westgarth on Philadelphia’s Jeff Szwez. As you can see, Szwez is out when Westy tags him hard with the left, but he gets in another hard right for good measure. Kudos to Szwez for getting right back up though. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. Stayed tuned for the weekend wrap up, and as always stay goony!

Straight Outta North Station

This is Why I Don't Drink

What started with nervous energy and confidence ended with a puck hitting the back of the goal at exactly 1 AM, and me turning the television off. No swearing, no cross words. I had remarked to The Ref before the game started, that it's a good thing I don't drink anymore. It's game day, finally. Nervous? Excited? Both dem things. I really dug the media day coverage NHL network had. Highlights for the Bruins included Jags, and Shawn Thornton. Let me have your opinions on this guys, while I think Sean Avery is a weasel on the ice, I think his indefinite suspension is absolute bullshit. He said something that probably most of us have said at some point in our lives. He made a comment about his ex (Jack Bauer’s daughter and girl next door) Elisha Cuthbert being his sloppy seconds for Phaneuf.

In my opinion this should have been a behind closed doors type of issue, Bettman and the Stars organization pulls him in, explains how its wrong, etc. and has him appologize to both Phaneuf and Cuthbert, end of story.

I think this is less of an issue than waving his stick in front of Brodeur’s face, completely blown out of proportion. What do you guys think?

Kind of horseshit and classless on Avery’s part, but there’s no way that he should be suspended for it. Next time he might want to tell ’em that what he’s saying is “off the record” ! If Bettman’s gonna boot every guy that says something stupid….he’s going to be a busy guy. Let the boys settle it on the ice !!

Speaking of HORSESHIT…..’Canes passing up Tom Rowe in favor of Paula Maurice as the replacement for Laviolette !! Give me a break. Go B’s !!
