Check out Max Hood, he is the son of a very good friend of ours. 80 points and 54 PIM, a true Goon in training. Keep up the good work!

2023-11-20Hockey is Back, Babies!
The weather has once again turned chilly, and it looks like a pumpkin threw up in my house. There’s p-spice everywhere, and the ladies all have their Han Solo outfits on to go apple picking. It can only mean one thing. Hockey is back!
Our beloved Bruins have played two games so far - clinching a 3-0 victory on Sunday night (vs. Rangers) before unfortunately succumbing to a 4-1 defeat on Tuesday (vs. XXXX). A few observations have caught my attention. A couple of one-two things have stuck out...

2023-07-13The Future of the Hockey Enforcer
I get this question a lot these days, as friends and relatives are well aware of my proclivity for a good ol' professional on-ice donnybrook. While I have strong opinions as to the best answer - the true future of the NHL hockey enforcer and the fights they once graced fans with - I don't have to like it. And, frankly, I don't.Where Have All the Good Goons Gone?On the ice, are there even any classic goons left? Gone are Shawn Thornton, Trevor Gillies, Brendan Walsh and most of the other Goonblo...

The stats that you are showing in this thread is for an 8 and under team. I love tough hockey. But this is a Mite team. I think it is out of line when you give kudos for PIMs at the 8-u age bracket. It is difficult teaching kids the difference between tough hockey and cheap hockey but I do not believe that we should promote PIMs.
Coaach, we also point out he had 80 points. He is Cam Neely in the making. #8 is a Goonblog favorite, and that’s what we are celebrating.
I was lucky enough to attend a MN Wild game last night vs. Chicago @ the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. Stephane Veilleux scored the first goal for the Wild in the 3rd period. About 20 second after his goal, a small skermish broke our near the Wild net. Out of nowhere, Veilleux grabbed some poor shmuck from Chicago and beat him like a drum. As he was led off the ice (done for the game with the instigator penalty as well as game miscoundcut assed) the fans were going nuts. At that point I thought this is what hockey used to be. Score a goal, bash someones brains in and allow us fans to enjoy a night out. At least some team gets it!
Killer – thanks for the great comment. Send Chris your address so we can send you a T-Shirt.
Killer, I heard the X is one of the best places on Earth to see a game. I wish I were there man.
