I am at a crossroads. I need help. I’m reaching out to you, dear reader. Please help me and guide me. I admit I am powerless.ooops, wrong meeting.
I am a firm believer in the theory that one should never wear another man’s uniform. I do not buy team jerseys, of any team, because I think I can show support for my team by being in the building, following them on television and in the newspapers, and devoting much of this blog to their existence. I am not a meatslapper by any stretch of the imagination. I have no problem with people that do wear jerseys, and seek autographs for said jersey, it just isn’t my scene. Or is it?
The Boston Bruins unveiled their new third jersey today, and I gotta tell you, I’m really teetering. I find the jersey to be very sharp. I like the simplicity of the design, and it’s got me very seriously considering buying one. Now, the question is three fold.
1. Does it make me a meatslapper?
2. If I do buy one, is it wrong I would get Lucic 17 on the back?
3. Is it OK if I buy one, and get no name and number?
I will see the new uni’s in action this weekend as Friday I am in my regular seats, and Saturday George got us up in the Sports Deck. I guess I could see them really up close and decide from there. I really need help. Please goons and goonettes; I am guided by you on this one. What say you Goonblog?

It’s ok to wear someone else’s jersey. It doesn’t make you a meatslapper, it’s just another way to support your team and or favorite player. (Not to mention it’s revenue for said team to go and sign free agents with). I do own two jerseys with name and number on them. One is Lucic’s road white and the other is a Reggie Dunlop #7 Chiefs home blue. Very easy to tell what kind of hockey I enjoy. I too am contemplating purchasing the new third jersey, and if I do, it will have Thornton’s #22 on the back.
I look forward to seeing you Friday, mentioned to Dave earlier today about a 9:00 AM meet at the Grand Canal for some Bloody Mary’s and Irish breakfast.

I say buy it and wear it proud. You know my thoughts on this subject. At least it will be better than my Chara jersey.
Unrelated but I’m so angry I have to tell the world. I saw some Meat head trying to argue why Nabokov deserved the Vezena so far this season over Thomas or Backstrom, or even Lundquist… Some people are so ignorant. Go look at Nabby’s stats next to say… Mike Smith of Tampa… He doesn’t deserve shit except a pat on the back for playing for the best team in the NHL.

Get the Luc shirt and wear it proudly, anyone who can hold his fist because their team is not up by 4 goals is a true goon (I say this because Luc would have pounded LaRaque if he really wanted too). i can’t wait until friday morning drinks and some solid hockey at noon.

Brownie, Agreed. Anything is better than that Chara jersey. After seeing the 3rd jerseys twice this weekend, I have decided to buy one. They are just too good to pass up. Now, do I get Lucic, or Thornton?
